Church LeadersHear from our staff and leadership team about their heart for Portrack
My heart for Portrack is that it would be an inclusive worshipping community; a place where all who come may feel at home – loved, known, accepted and safe and where they would encounter the life-changing presence of Jesus. That it would be a place where people may flourish in their God-given uniqueness and gifting and therefore where creativity would flow and where we would engage deeply and honestly with God’s word and with each other. All of which must result in service and therefore my heart is that as a church we would stand against injustice wherever we encounter it and that we would seek the peace and prosperity of our local community, actively looking for ways in which we may work with and for our area.
My heart for Portrack is that we’d be a place where people feel welcome and valued. That from our youngest to our oldest we’d be open to learning from each other, seeking God together, working alongside of one another, and having fun together. My hope is that we’ll be a people shaped by the place we’re in– that we’ll make space to hear from God and join in with the Spirit already at work in our community.
My heart and passion for PBC is for us to continue to seek and follow God’s leading corporately as a church and individually. To encourage and engage with our congregation and community to grow closer to God and to be able to enjoy basking in his love, peace and the intimate relationship he wants to have with us. Also to encourage and help our congregation to discover and use the wonderful gifts God has given us all and to take from Gods ‘banqueting table’ those things he wants to give us.
Youth & Community Worker
My heart for PBC is to see us grow in our understanding and undertaking of our collective summons to serve. I want to see us united in our love for God and each other in a way which causes us to serve and demonstrate the love of God to our community. As a Youth & Community Worker my heart is to see young people find their calling and purpose in God and to help us as a church be a positive force for good in the local estate.
My heart for PBC is that we will all find security from knowing that God loves us and that we are his treasure, that our trust in God will grow to be truly without borders and that we will be united through and in our service for God, to each other and to the community around us and in being so we will give glory to God.
My heart for PBC is to help as many as we can to begin the journey of understanding what it means to fathom the depths of believing personally ‘I am the beloved’ and to continue to walk with each other in community and family, with eyes and hearts fixed firmly on our everlasting God.
My heart for PBC is for us to be like a big family seated around a table sharing a meal together, but with empty seats and spaces at the table for people to come and join us.
